Painting Crew

The paint did fly today. We painted on about four gallons of paint doing two coats on the hall, living room and hallway. Also part of the kitchen. Mary and Sarah were great help and Janette came in later with moral support. We all finished the day with beer and margaritas at Marcos. What a great day.

Kitchen Floor

The picture shows the ceramic tile in the kitchen. You can tell from the picture but the colors are really quite nice. The groating is done now, but I took the picture this morning.

The kitchen cabinets were delivered this AM and hopefully the will start installation on Wednesday.

Painting

Today I painted the kitchen and utility room in preparation for laying the ceramic tile in those areas. There is a little sense of urgency since they are going to install the cupboards a week from today. I took a picture of the kitchen but the focus and the colors were terrible. Tomorrow I am going to try to start on the floor but I am going to a farm sale in Lake Park and have to see Lynne's relative at 1:00. The house has consumed me so much that I haven't even put my boat in the water. Am going to rectify that soon.

Another windy day

Today was eventful. Lance and Denny Tungland dug in the septic tank, got rid of some of my excess dirt, and dug in the tile that drains the crawl space. That pipe goes down the hill so there is a gravity flow out of the crawl space. That means no need for a sump pump.

I cleaned up the floor in the living room, kitchen, hall, and bath and screwed it down. Tomorrow I am going to paint the kitchen and start in on the tile floor so I can have the cupboards put in.

Took a drive down my road and took some wildlife pictures. All of these taken in a span of less than ten minutes.

Enjoy.

Window

We had quite a time putting in the window for the cathedral ceiling. Dennis got the opening ready and we hauled the window in place with each of us 0on a ladder. When we got up the window didn't fit so we came down with it and discovered that they made the extension jams wrong. The window itself was OK. So we removed the extension jams and got the window installed. It looks great.

The texturing will be finished tomorrow and Monday the ceilings will be painted and the walls primed. This should be done by the end of Tuesday.

Just below the house on the road track we had three pairs of geese with their little goslings.
Each pair appeared to have four or five fluffy yellow babies. Too far to get a good picture so you will have to trust me.

Nonsense

The picture has nothing to do with the house but is a picture of the forsale sign on the farm that is going on auction on May 30. It is 160 acres of prime farm ground so, if you are interested please come and bid.. If you need any info please contact me.

Seriously, the house is coming along. The tapers are probably going to finish tomorrow and the texturing and painting will follow. Dennis got the garage doors up and working. The openers that I got will not work so new ones are ordered. The geothermal heatpump and accesories were delivered today. My what alot of work I have ahead of me!

Wed 5/2

Today we got the garage doors in place and the two walk out doors in the garage installed. Also got the wiring completed in the garage.

The good new is that the sheet rock hangers will be here tomorrow and plan to finish with that on
Friday. Hopefully they will then proceed to tape, texture and prime the sheet rock next week.
Things seem to be taking shape quite nicely.

Rural water and the geothermal drilling are on schedule f0r about the middle of May.

I have really been blessed to be able to do a project like this. It is so much fun.
